Why is the best architect in the world “The best”?

Web browsing, often the best choice for an individual inquisitiveness may also sometimes lead to a milestone of confusion.
For example, when wanting to know who is the best of something, the internet gives you a wide view from millions of writers. In a similar scenario which web page to rely on? Which article is giving you the right sort of information you need. (I’m not saying that’s me.)

Let’s make it more clear by elaborating the idea of the question. Considering the above example in an actual context. Let’s say ‘Who is the best architect?’ No wonder internet’s gonna flood you with varieties of answers where the person standing at the first position in one list may stand at second or third in another. A serious confusion, isn’t it? Ending up scratching our heads, we all keep wondering for the right answer, but who does know that? I’ll tell you. Keep reading ;

Who is the best? As it is already known that the word ‘best’ refers to an abstract noun that establishes the thought of the question being illogical.
Relax, I ain’t gonna teach you about nouns here, if you are reading this, you must’ve known that already. The point of my saying is that even though this is a pointless question, the internet and various magazines still have the answer. But how? How can they say the person/object listed in the first position is the best? What’s the analysis behind this?

The answer is easier than you think. Anyone based on their work (more specifically ‘type of work’) is placed on either first, second, or maybe last position in the list.
Now let’s take a deep dive into the question for a better understanding. If you go through the search engines, most preferably ‘Google’, you’ll find that most of the articles mention ‘Frank Owen Gehry’ as the best architect in the world.

Who is Frank Gehry?

A very renowned personality best known for his works like Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dancing house… and many more. FRANK OWEN GEHRY has been serving as one of world’s best architect after starting his own firm in 1962.

Most of Gehry buildings are a result of structural deformation in order to convey disharmony and chaos. This type of architectural style is known as Deconstructivism.

What is Deconstructivism?

Goes with its name, Deconstructivism is a contrast movement for the style Constructivist, that is a part of ‘Modern architecture’. It is a movement from the Postmodern Architecture that appeared in early 1980’s and started to grow in 1990’s.

The purpose of this style of architecture is to represent a chaotic thought devoid of harmony, continuity or symmetry, breaking the rules of Modern Architecture. Although Gehry himself has always been seeking distance from the following label, some of his buildings prove him being one of the most successful Deconstructivist Architect. The intentions to expose biases, flaws or inconsistencies are set to be seen in his structures. Some of his most famous designs are as follows:

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Spain)

While talking about why Frank O. Gehry is the best in his profession, his works are the answer. He has approximately 82 completely designed structures and many in progress. While his style is considered Deconstructivist, his buildings stand out of other structures making an unique impression in its surroundings.
